Solar water pumps can radically improve villagers' lives - whether by removing the daily chore of carrying water long distances or by irrigating fields, they can be a huge boon to development and economic empowerment.
Climate Parliament and the International Solar Alliance (ISA, an intergovernmental body) have published a call for companies and other organisations working with solar-powered water pumps in Sub-Saharan Africa to present commitments on investments in this field over the coming days.
These commitments will be announced and presented to assembled parliamentarians and government representatives from eight countries on the occasion of Climate Parliament and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)'s regional hearing on 12th-13th April 2017 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
You can find the official announcement here, the draft certificate here, and visit the ISA website for further information.
