Legislators & Business Forum on low carbon local area development


Climate Parliament India in association with FICCI is pleased to announce the launch of the “Legislators-Business Forum”, taking place on the 5th December 2016 at the Meridian Hotel in New Delhi, India.

The launch will be attended by eminent parliamentarians, CEOs and CSR heads of companies which are implementing low-carbon solutions. The launch event will provide insight on how industry can collaborate with legislators to execute low carbon projects on the ground in the various geographies encompassing the legislative constituencies. The “Legislator-Business Forum on low carbon local area development” is aimed at creating a platform of legislators and corporates, where they find common interests for executing local area low carbon development initiatives by exploring potential synergies in terms of geographical focus, financial dovetailing and support, local stakeholder engagement, technological solutions, and development/business priorities, amongst others.

The Forum, in particular, will focus on expanding the adoption of decentralized renewable energy solutions and other clean technologies in different areas, by building a common platform of legislators and corporates to work together. We are pleased to announce that Mr. Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Hon. Minister of State, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) and Chairman, Climate Parliament India Steering Committee will chair the event. Mr. Piyush Goyal, Hon. Minister of State, Power, Coal, Renewable Energy and Mines (Independent Charge) will be the Chief Guest.

Climate Parliament is a global network of legislators to promote renewable energy and combat climate change. FICCI, the largest and oldest apex business organization in India, represents the voice of business and industry through policy advocacy, outreach, and various platforms it organizes of its own with Government and international partners.
