On November 17th, Sergio Missana, Regional Director for Latin America of the Climate Parliament, addressed the forum “Presentation of the Costa Rican INDC to COP 21,” held at the Legislative Assembly in San José. Dr. Missana spoke about the evolution of the UN climate negotiations from the principle of “common but differentiated responsibilities” to voluntary contributions. On mission in Suzhou, China

This week, several of our team were on mission in Suzhou City, China, for the International Forum on Energy Transitions, jointly hosted by the Government of China and IRENA, the International Renewable Energy Agency. This three-day event provided a platform for government officials, scientists, experts and scholars, as well as representatives from the energy industry and business community, to facilitate in-depth discussions on energy transition around the world. This week, the Climate Parliament was proud to co-host a Regional Workshop on Energy Connectivity and Transboundary Power Trade in Asia, together with the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC), and the Chinese Renewable Energy Industry Association (CREIA). Seminario sobre energía renovable en Japón y Chile

On Nov. 5th, in Santiago, Chile, Sergio Missana, Regional Director for Latin America of the Climate Parliament, held a presentation at the seminar “Renewable energy policy in Japan and its possible contribution to Chile.” Dr. Missana spoke about the Green Grid Alliance initiative, a project that aims to bring together nations interested on the design and planning for a Global Green Grid and a clean world energy system.
