The Climate Parliament is building up a library of resources to help legislators in the battle to combat climate change. In the field of clean energy these consist of:

  • Briefing papers which give overviews on particular subjects. So far we have published briefing papers on clean energy supergrids* and on renewable energy technologies and policies*.

  • Parliamentary Toolkits on policy ideas that work. We have published toolkits on the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) laws in Germany* and Spain* and on how FITs have been introduced in the developing world*. We have also published a toolkit on mini-grids in developing countries and mini-grids in Pacific Islands, and on the potential for geothermal power in East Africa*.

  • Hearing reports. We publish reports on each international Parliamentary committee hearing, including the PowerPoint presentations from experts attending the hearings. Recent hearing reports include hearings in Mozambique (September 2009)* for Southern African MPs and Vanuatu (November 2009)* for small island legislators.

  • Videos of our hearings. We have already published videos of our hearings in Kenya (2008), Ghana (2008), and Guyana (2009). In future we also intend to produce videos on specific policy ideas.

  • Links. We have started a links page where legislators can find further useful information on renewable energy on other organisations’ websites.
